Speakers: Carmel Davies & Sharon Duff

In this workshop Sharon Duff and Carmel Davies (urbanlyrebirds.com) will give teachers strategies on using song to improve students’ listening skills – macroskills for meaning and comprehension as well as nuanced deeper listening for persuasion and attitudes. Tasks will have broad application, but will focus on themes of identity and belonging, and generational conflict.

Teachers will be given a range of tools to assist them prepare students for listening assessments for B band (B1 to B3) and S band (S1 to S4) (EAL Companion to English VELS).
