Those in the Adult sector has been very busy over the last couple of months responding to the announcement of new SEE and AMEP contracts commencing on 1st July. AMES, who had been overseeing the delivery of AMEP for over 50 years was unsuccessful in its tender, resulting in many job losses for its own teachers, as well as uncertainty for its many partner community providers. Melbourne Polytechnic have been contracted to deliver AMEP throughout most of Melbourne, with a number of providers contracted to deliver SEE. All providers, both big and small, have been working very hard during this transition process. The new contracts are complex and heavier on admin, requiring greater efficiencies in administration whilst seeking better outcomes for students. Needless to say, it is a stressful time for managers and teachers alike.
